Agreement to Terms

Welcome to AdSpot Media Services ("AdSpot", "we", "us", "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at adspotmedia.lk and all newspaper advertising services we provide.

By accessing our website, creating an account, or placing a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Use of Our Website and Services

Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services or place a booking.
• By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our website and services only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information or booking details
• Use our platform to advertise illegal products, services, or activities
• Submit ad content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or violates any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our website
• Use any automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from our website

We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel bookings, or terminate accounts at our sole discretion if we determine a violation of these Terms has occurred.

2. Advertising Services

Types of Advertisements

AdSpot Media facilitates the placement of the following types of newspaper advertisements across Sri Lanka:

• Box Advertisements: Display ads with custom dimensions (measured in height × column width)
• Classified Advertisements: Text-based ads charged per word
• Tender Notices: Legal and government tender announcements

Ad Specifications

All advertisements must comply with the specifications and guidelines of the respective newspaper. This includes:

• Minimum and maximum dimension requirements for box ads
• Image resolution and file format requirements (JPG, PNG, PDF; minimum 300 DPI for print)
• Word limits and approved categories for classified ads
• Content guidelines set by individual newspapers

Ad Content Approval

All advertisement content is subject to review and approval by both AdSpot Media and the publishing newspaper. We reserve the right to reject any advertisement that:

• Contains illegal, offensive, or misleading content
• Violates the editorial policies of the newspaper
• Does not meet technical specifications
• Infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights

In the event of rejection, we will notify you promptly and provide an opportunity to submit revised content or receive a refund per our Refund Policy.

Publication Guarantee

While we make every effort to ensure timely publication, AdSpot Media acts as an intermediary between customers and newspapers. We are not liable for:

• Newspaper printing errors beyond our control
• Publication delays caused by the newspaper's production schedule
• Last-minute rejections by the newspaper's editorial team

In such cases, we will work to reschedule your ad or issue a refund in accordance with our Refund Policy.

3. Pricing and Payments

Pricing Structure

Our pricing is based on the following structure:

• Box Ads: Base rate per column centimetre, plus a platform commission of 10% and VAT of 18%
• Classified Ads: Per-word rate as set by each newspaper, plus a service charge
• Prices are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and are subject to change without notice

Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

• Online Payment via PayHere: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and online banking (instant payment confirmation)
• Bank Transfer: Direct deposit to our Sampath Bank account (requires manual verification, 1–2 business days)

Payment Obligations

• Full payment is required at the time of booking for card/online payments
• For bank transfers, payment must be received within 3 business days of booking, or the booking may be automatically cancelled
• All prices include applicable taxes as displayed at checkout
• Promo code discounts are applied at checkout and cannot be applied retroactively

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Our cancellation and refund terms are governed by our Refund Policy. Key points:

• Free cancellation within 48 hours of publication date — full refund
• Cancellation 24–48 hours before publication — 50% refund
• No refund once the ad has been submitted to the newspaper (within 24 hours of publication)
• Full refund for ads that fail to publish due to our error

5. Intellectual Property

Customer Content

By submitting advertisement content (text, images, logos, artwork) to AdSpot Media, you:

• Confirm that you own or have the legal right to use all submitted content
• Grant AdSpot Media a limited, non-exclusive licence to use your content solely for the purpose of placing your advertisement
• Confirm that your content does not infringe on any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights

AdSpot Media Content

All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, the AdSpot brand name, and software — is the property of AdSpot Media Services and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without prior written permission
• Use our brand name or logo without authorization
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our source code

6. Account Registration

Creating an account on AdSpot Media is optional but recommended for managing your bookings. If you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your password secure and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• AdSpot Media shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific booking in question
• We make no warranties regarding the effectiveness of newspaper advertisements in achieving your business objectives
• We are not responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control (force majeure), including newspaper strikes, natural disasters, or government actions

8. Privacy

Your use of AdSpot Media services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
